Our team knew that creating a successful coffee stop in the center of a high traffic concourse takes durable materials, captivating design, and intentional cueing. These are all factors we took into account while planning for the uniquely shaped LOD that we were given within the Concourse B at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. Louvers with a rich wood finish were applied to the counter front to soften the palette, while also providing a screen between guests and equipment. The same method was applied above the heart of house area to control the sightlines of guests using the adjacent escalator. Challenges included implementing the existing brand’s identity successfully into unique LOD, and maximizing every square foot to ensure ultimate functionality for employees and guests.
